What is paint correction?

Bring back the vibrant glow of your original paint

That hazy, cobwebbed look under the sun isn't just dirty paint — it's thousands of fine swirls and scratches catching the light. Years of car washes, snow brushes and quick wipe-downs slowly dull the finish. Paint correction brings it back: we machine-polish the clear coat to remove those defects and restore the deep, wet gloss your car had the day it left the showroom — no repaint, no body shop.

We treat your paint like it's our own. Before a pad ever touches the car, we read the finish under high-intensity lighting and, where needed, measure the clear coat, so we remove the defects safely and never polish through it. Then we work in stages — as many as the paint needs and no more — with dual-action polishers and progressively finer abrasives until the reflection is clean and sharp.

And we'll always be straight with you about what correction can and can't do. Swirls, haze and light scratches within the clear coat come out beautifully; a scratch deep enough to catch your fingernail needs touch-up, not polishing. Once your paint is corrected, we recommend sealing that flawless finish with a ceramic coating so it stays that way for years.

What causes swirl marks & scratches?

Swirls and scratches usually come from automatic car washes with abrasive brushes and harsh chemicals, subpar hand-washing technique, poor exterior detailing methods — or the snow brushes we all depend on in North York winters. With our expertise and meticulous craftsmanship, we restore your paint to near-perfection.

Cost & value

How much does paint correction cost — and is it worth it?

Ours runs from about $250 to $750, depending on how many stages your paint needs, your vehicle's size and the condition it's in. A single-stage polish refreshes a newer car; a two- or three-stage job brings a tired, heavily swirled finish back to a deep, mirror gloss. Every package includes the hand wash, clay bar, decontamination and sealant — no surprise add-ons.

Is it worth it? If you're keeping the car, absolutely. Correction removes years of swirls and haze in a way no wax or "scratch remover" bottle can, it makes the paint look expensive again, and it protects resale value. It's also the step most people skip before a ceramic coating — and skipping it means sealing the flaws under the coating for years. We'd rather do it right once.

Our paint correction process

01

Wash & decontaminate

A hand wash, rim and tire wash, clay bar and full paint decontamination to strip embedded grime before polishing.

02

Inspect & measure

We assess the paint under high-intensity lighting to identify swirls, scratches and oxidation, and plan the right number of stages.

03

Machine polishing

One to three stages of dual-action polishing progressively remove defects and restore a deep, clear gloss.

04

Seal & protect

A paint sealant locks in the finish. For lasting results we recommend a ceramic coating to protect the corrected paint.

FAQ

Paint correction — your questions answered

What causes swirl marks and scratches? +

Swirls and scratches often come from automatic car washes with abrasive brushes, poor hand-washing technique, harsh chemicals, or the snow brushes we rely on in North York winters.

How much does paint correction cost? +

Our paint correction runs from about $250 to $750, depending on the number of stages, your vehicle’s size and the condition of the paint. Every package includes a hand wash, clay bar, decontamination and paint sealant.

What’s the difference between 1, 2 and 3-stage correction? +

A 1-stage removes about 30% of defects for a light shine, a 2-stage about 70% for a deep shine, and a 3-stage about 95% — including wet sanding — for an ultra-deep, near-flawless finish.

Does paint correction remove deep scratches? +

It removes and reduces scratches and swirls within the clear coat. Scratches deep enough to catch a fingernail — through to the base coat or primer — need touch-up or a respray, not polishing. We’ll assess yours honestly first.

Is paint correction worth it? +

If you’re keeping the car and want it to look its best, yes. It removes years of swirls and haze, brings back the depth and gloss of the original paint, and lifts resale value — and it’s the essential first step before a ceramic coating.

Should I get a ceramic coating after paint correction? +

We recommend it. Once the paint is corrected, a ceramic coating protects that flawless finish and keeps your car looking pristine for years.

Is paint correction permanent? +

Correction permanently removes the defects it targets, but new swirls can form from improper washing. Proper maintenance and a protective coating keep the finish looking its best.

Do you offer mobile paint correction near me across the GTA? +

Yes — we’re fully mobile, bringing professional machine polishing to your home or office across North York, Toronto, Etobicoke, Mississauga, Vaughan, Markham and the wider GTA at no extra travel cost.
